15 oz tomato sauce
4 cups beef broth
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp salt, or to taste
½ tsp ground black pepper, or to taste
2 bay leaves
2 Tbsp chopped fresh herbs, such as dill, parsley, or cilantro
